First Grapevine United Methodist Church presents its 2nd Annual noontime Organ Concert Series during Holy Week, April 3-7 in the Sanctuary, 422 Church Street, located one block west of Main St.  Admission is free and open to the public, with voluntary donations will be accepted after each performance.

Each day at noon, a local organist will offer a 30–45 minute music presentation appropriate for Holy Week, and will be followed by a cookie reception in the narthex.

On Monday, April 3, nationally renowned concert organist Bradley Welch will perform a varied and wide-ranging program of organ selections. Bradley is an artist-in-residence for Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Dallas, TX, and serves as the resident organist for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

On Tuesday, April 4, organist Sunny Yu will perform unique and beautiful selections of organ works ranging from meditative to majestic.  Sunny is the Associate Director of Music and Organist at First Presbyterian Church of Dallas, and this will be her first time performing for First Grapevine.

On Wednesday, April 5, organist and long-time friend Ken Surley will walk us through Holy Week with his selection of reflective organ pieces. Ken is an organist at Plymouth Park United Methodist Church where he has served for thirty years. He is certified by the American Guild of Organists and has played worldwide, accompanying various choirs and ensembles.

On Thursday, April 6, well-known organist and pianist Scott Ayers will provide a program of both organ and piano selections. Scott serves as the organist/accompanist of East Dallas Christian Church and is the Associate Conductor and pianist for the Turtle Creek Chorale.  During Scott’s program at First Grapevine, he will be taking hymn requests from the congregation and then improvising on-the-spot hymn arrangements.

On Friday, April 7, First Grapevine's organist and master musician Linda Love will be joined by members of the First Grapevine music staff, including Ashley Winland, soprano.  This program will feature a selection of organ and vocal pieces appropriate for Good Friday. Linda has had a long career as an organist, accompanist, vocal coach, and director of the Fishers of Men, the men's choir ensemble at First Grapevine.
