What is Family Promise of HEB?

Family Promise of HEB is a faith-based, non-profit ministry that supports families who are experiencing homelessness as they search for jobs, undergo job training, and obtain permanent housing.  The ministry is affiliated with the nation-wide Family Promise which began in New York City in 1986.  Family Promise's goals are to provide a safe environment in which families can stay together, and to provide assistance they need to become self-sufficient.  80% of the families who complete the program have secured permanent housing. Family Promise of HEB solely helps students of the HEB school district and their families.

As of January 2017, there were over 460 students who were identified as experiencing a homeless situation in our district.
